Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, has been opening up to the world for the past five years, one fragile step at a time. We enjoyed our time in the capital Yangon (formerly Rangoon) and Bagan, spellbound by ancient temples and pagodas, but found a country that is torn between its repressive past and progressive future. It's too early to tell which side will win.
